Directly downloading images is no longer permitted on the Netfirms
free basic plan, and banner ads are now displayed on all web pages
under the free basic plan.

Any suggested alternatives?

Can't you just link them to a page? I mean just a dummy page that has a
link to the download. How hard could it be?
