I know this may seem like the wrong place to post this request, but I
initially asked about it on the OpenNetCF forums a couple of weeks ago,
and it fell on deaf ears. Considering this ng is frequented by many of
the contributors to the SDF, I thought it may be ok to post it here
instead.
Borland has recently released a Delphi technology preview compiler for
the Compact Framework
(http://bdn.borland.com/article/0,1410,33271,00.html), and I would love
to share the great work that the OpenNetCF developers have done with
the Delphi development community. Unfortunately many of these
developers don't have access to Visual Studio, and the SDF installer
won't proceed when it detects that VS isn't present.
Would it be possible to re-architect the SDF installer so it no longer
has the dependency on VS.NET being present in order to install?
I do have VS.NET, so I do have the SDF installed on my system, but as I
understand the license, I can only re-distrubute it along with an
application that uses it. I could create a demo app that uses the SDF
and distribute it that way, but somehow that seems to me to be
circumventing the license.

QualityCentral. The best way to bug Borland about bugs.
