It doesn't seem incorrect, because I can see the file
names being reported during defragmentationm but I cannot
find the file sduring a routine drive search.

The files are named 0000000.binaries. All different
numbers, and there a bunch of them

I know that I am only using 4GB of this 20GB drive, but
explorer reports back that I'm using 15GB.

I am leaning towards Norton SystemWorks 2002 as the cause.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do they have a .chk after them? Run scandisk to make sure your hard disk has
no errors.
It's called checkdisk in XP --Start--Run--type in-- chkdsk -- and it will
run it.

hope this helps! =)
