I have just used a freeware registry cleaner

CM DiskCleaner and it found nearly 1500 faults on my laptop and 1200 on
my desktop it does allsorts of other stuff aswell download from

http://www.yesitsfree.co.uk/augustmonth.htm

I installed it and discovered that it put over 700 new keys in my
registry as well as a number of files in System32. If your aim is to
slim down your system, it may not be the best option...................

The deleting by registry Corrector prog is far too automatic for my
liking!

Anyway i've never had any problems with Registry Corrector. Used on
many PCs.

Amongst other file, Reg Corrector wiped out some DLLs for my other USB-
atached printer which was temporarily disconnected. Groo!
