Free recovery tools

Hi,

Does anyone know of any free good recovery tools that can recover isos and programs from an external hdd and other data, and also any good free tools to resize the drive to its defualt size.

Copy all data and anything important to CD/DVD, store in recommended conditions as per manufacturer's instruction ... if HD fails or get corrupted, and it will, reinstall all software & data from CD/DVDs.

Thanks for your replies.

IS there anyother tools that can get data from a hard drive that has been formatted? I have tried recuva all that found was music files. I take it there is no way to get 100% of the data back that was on the drive at the time it was formatted?


Any more help would be grateful.

Ok, i'm a lil confused here..Are you trying to recover data from a drive that has since been formatted..? If so yeah there is software for that..But not for us meer mortals..You'd need to work for MI6, FBI or CIA to have access to that sort of stuff

The drive was already formatted when I posted this thread I forgot to say that. Sorry.

Say good bye to the data unfortunately..Unledd you want to pay a fw hundred pounds and take it to a specialist..Although if it is just software recovery you want, they'll just tell you to purchase it again..

PC World couldn't recover from a common cold let alone recover lost data...They have something like a 90% failure rate...Take that from someone that knows all to well...
