My professor uploads quizes and notes in Powerpoint
format. I don't have Powerpoint on any of my computers.
Someone mentioned I can download a free viewer
or "reader" ...or something so I can at least read the
quizes my professor is sending.
Can someone direct me where and how to find them. I
didn't see any free viewers in my search.

Please reply.

Try OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org)
It can read and output PPT.

OpenOffice is like Microsoft Office, just it's free and open-source.
Their equivalent to PowerPoint is OpenOffice Impress.
But I think you have to download the complete bundle.

PS: But if he uploads Powerpoint files he must make sure that at least on
some of the university computers Powerpoint is installed!
