have you thought about using Yahoo?

free accounts from there that use POP, dont go to yahoo.com, try yahoo.co.uk,
make sure you use co.uk mail extension when signing up, ive got several
accounts with them and all use POP

You can access Googles GMail via POP.

Wuerde ich ja gern nutzen dieses tolle Angebot.

Aber:

Wie richte ich mein Mailprogramm "Foxmail" darauf ein?

POP3: .......................... (Bezeichnung nicht bekannt!)
Mail/SMTP: mail.sytrino.net

Passwort: das ist ja kein Problem

E-Mail-Adresse: welche gilt nun?
a) (e-mail address removed) oder
b) sytrino.net/xxxx ?

Kann mir hier vielleicht jemand helfen?

I guess they may be having growing pains. I signed up a few days ago;
and POP is working great for me.

Also I am getting the FAQ in English:

How to retrieve mail via POP3/IMAP by e-mail client software
(ex. Outlook)?

1. Start Outlook and select 'Accounts' from the 'Tools' menu item.
2. Select 'Add' and then 'Mail...'
3. Enter your name.
4. Enter your E-mail address. ([email protected])
5. Select POP3/IMAP for the incoming server type, and enter
"www.sytrino.net"
For the outgoing server enter "www.sytrino.net"
6. Enter your login name (your username) and password. Click next,
and select your
connection type.
7. Now you can use Outlook with SYTRINO

Thanks, I had a Yahoo account I didn't know what to do with :) I thought I
needed to pay for POP access, and all I had to do was agree to recieve 1
spam per week. Like I would even notice with all my other spam :)

Which works well for me. However, I notice the SMTP is a bit flaky -
sometimes it does, sometimes it don't.

I like GMail from Google.. With the Google brand, I expect it to remain
elegant with subtle targeted text ads.. Nothing "flaky" that I've found
with Google. Wish I had their stock......no interest in Google here,
but I admire their company. I have 6 free invitations left.
