Hi,

I asked earlier about free newsreaders available which were of similar
configurability to Gravity, but more up to date.

I have for the moment settled on Mesnews and I am fairly impressed with
it, though it still has a few raw edges.

It is very graphic, can be configured to work on-line (automatically
updating headers) or off-line, automatically marks up any threads you
reply to, multiple news servers, multi colour quoting and supports
several languages.

It is still being developed, but the raw edges I have found are that it
uses a random quote prefix which is in French, the search facility
takes some understanding and I still don't quite understand it.

If anyone has found a work around for the above I would be grateful.

I found gravity a bit quirky and kept disconnecting from my news server.

I'm actually using the thunderbird mail and news client now.

Hi, Harry,

go to the next server: news.zoo-logique.org
choose the group "MesNews.Internationa"
login for the server "zoo"
psw "entrer"

put your question there and we will explain how to change what you want
:-)

I did actually subsribe to that forum, but it never downloaded anything
or even managed to connect. I rather assumed the login and password was
put in automatically, but thanks for letting me know about the required
details ;o)
