Does anybody know of any free memory managers? I used to have one that ran
in system tray and showed memory used and would allow you to free up memory
if needed. I reformatted and lost it! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, have you tried FREERAM from http://www.bysoft.com?

Microsoft "Clearmem" is as good as any.

None of the memory managers are very useful. I have tried several, and none
did anything I could really notice.

I use RamBooster. It seems to work well. You can free ram when you want or
setup up a auto release that will release ram when it gets low. I don't
know where I got it.

I've been using Ram DefXT 2.71 since Sept 26, with Win ME (a terrible Win edition). It seems to have improved stability and have prevented crashes.

I've been using FreeRam XP Pro 1.40 for the last month, and like it
quite a bit. The only very minor problem was that a default setting
has it automatically check for updates, which was bringing the
computer out of standby (easy to overlook, but also easy to change).

: AnalogX (.com) offers MaxMem that works well. Details below. I've always
: found their freeware to be excellent.

I've d/loaded MaxMem, now to try it. One encouraging sign: the d/l was very small at 136KB. That could indicate compact coding, and no bells/whistles. Thanks, Klein.

I've also d/loaded FreeRam XP Pro 1.40. I assume you were responding to my message, Maureen, although you didn't quote me

There are so many RAM managers choices, makes choosing difficult. Thanks
