Are there any freeware-sites specificly dedicated to software that is free
for commercial use?

LOL! Why should there be? Corps already get tax breaks,
write offs (more tax breaks) for nearly everything, so you are
kidding aren't you?

"Commercial use" usually includes non-profit or governmental
organizations such as schools and libraries. Not every non-private
user is a greedy capitalist.

Wise up, madam.

John Hood has a nice business oriented site:
http://www.jhoodsoft.org/
"The Best of Free Software for Business and Productivity"

As an aid to people looking for business freeware on the ACF program
info pages apps are labeled "free" if they are free for all uses and
"free for personal use" or similar when there are restrictions. See:

etc. etc.

Huh? According to who? The most common distinctions I see Freeware
authors making are between personal, commercial, charitable, non-profit
and academic use. Many Freeware authors allow some non-commercial uses
(free for charitable use, academic use, etc.). FWIW authors usually say
something like "free for personal, non-commercial use at home" if they
want to exclude ALL other uses.

In your post you use the words "many", "usually" and "most", but I
don't see the word "all".

My point was that one has to read carefully to be sure of the
distinction between a "personal" use and "non-commercial" use.

ummm. . . in my experience once the info is found interpretation is
usually :) not too difficult but. . . that info is seldom noted on
download sites and authors may not show it on their web sites. IMO the
main problem is *finding* the information sbout usage limitations.

and then there's the problem of misleading blurbs. . .

"Absolutely free" on the author's front page that turned out to be "free
for personal use only" when I finally found the well buried fine print
comes to mind as one particularly fine example. . .
