Free fax?

There are several that will give you a free trial for a limited number of
days or faxes.
It boggles the mind why Microsoft left the fax application out of Vista Home
Premium but tells you much about the corporate mind set of General Motors
circa 1974.

If there is, it's definitely not worth a crap.

The best - Snappy Fax - costs only about twenty bucks (US) as I
recall.
 
It's back in Windows 7 - all editions. I think they left it out in Vista
because faxing was seen as passing. They were mistaken, obviously, but have
corrected it and should be including Fax with all Windows 7 editions - even
Starter. In the mean time, there are several good fax programs out there,
some at no charge. There's even a website you can send faxes from.

Again free things are always crippled and primitive.

If you want real FAX you will get FaxTalk Pro Center from
ThoughtCOmmunications.
They acquired's legendary WinFaxTalk Pro several years ago as it ceased to
work under Vista, and had issues even under WinXP.
Symantec refused to continue development and sold it.
Now FaxTalkPro is the new Delrina/WinFax.

If you want inferior, unsupported product which cuts corners, then of course
you will use WIndows built-in FAXing.

There's a reason for money, and that is to pay for goods, not for gimmicks
as most freebies are
