Free DVD Burner to burn from .avi files

Hi.

Does anyone know of a decent free dvd burner which will convert an AVI file to dvd readable format?

I downloaded the Ashampoo burner 6.6, but this does not recognise AVI.

Video DVD maker came up with a .dll error message when I tried to load it.

Going to try WINavi, but if anyone knows any other free ones, please suggest..

WINavi didn't work either.... Anything else?
I don't really want to have to convert, then burn as due to my system, it takes forever.
 
it's not free but Nero Home will do it for you

see if you can get a trial version.


win avi is the best though
why didn't it work?
 
Nero Essentials won't convert avi to DVD, you need the full, full price version of Nero 8 to do that with the video plug-ins.

And you have to activate Nero 8 online as well now :mad:

I don't know of any freebies, sorry. I use Nero 8 for that.

For general file conversion and DVD to DivX I use a couple of (paid for) Imtoo software programs.

You could take a look at a site named Doom9 which has lots of freeware video conversion programs, but they're often complicated to use.
 
There is another freeware programme called Avi2Dvd scroll down the page a little to read users' comments :)
