Is there a free program to manage CDRW, I mean to format and to use CDRW?
(OS: WinXP).
Thanks.

Isn't there one built into XP?

My understanding is that XP *does not* provide CDRW support, other than at
the most basic level - ie erase/multisession.

There does indeed seem to be a dearth of freeware real-time UDF packet
writing utilities.

There's a good reason for that. Packet software is a pain in the a$$.
It might seem to be a good idea, but most peepz steer away from it after bad
experiences.
Stick with something like DeepBurner and write CD's in the traditional way.
Just my $0.05.

Agreed. I lost some data when using packet (session) writing with Easy CD
Recorder v5. But I'm told things have improved.

But in the DVD world, I've had no problems with it, using Nero.

Ahhh. I get it now; fixed length packet writing on CD-RW, a la InCD,
DirectCD, etc.
