Dear all,

Does anyone know if it's possible to get hold of any free CD ripping software? I'm building a PC for my young son (lives with his mum) and looking for something that he can use to convert tracks to mp3 and drag to his player.

Many thanks,

Ian

windows media player rips cd's also itunes does and same with musicmatch jukebox is that the sort of thing you want? or do you want a program that can just rip the cds and then he imports them into a program like that?

WMP10 is probably the easiest thing to use as it combines everything and its already in XP

Hi Chelseafc2005,

Just looking at a program to rip cd's into mp3 format only. He can then just drag n drop the mp3's onto his player.

Looking forward to the game on Monday!

A Hammers fan :D

lol chelsea are doing quite well atm:thumb: well on a cd all the files are mp3 (i think) so i think you can jus drag em from the cd to the player but then you dont have any of the track names and i would think that you want them. imo i think it would just be alot easier if you used one of the programs i mentioned as they can also sync to portable devices and they will automatically get the track names that i think that you would want.

just googled a little bit for a free cd ripper returned this result not sure if you have already lookd at it

unfortunately joe cole can't make his return to the hammers due to suspension

Cheers for that matey. Seems to be just the ticket :) The CDDB seems a little pokey but for the amount the kids will be using it, not a major issue, they can rename as they go.

3-0 eh? We'll see...

I've used this package for audio file conversion for several years now.

It used to be a freebie, now it's a pay-for.

Here's the freebie version: dbPoweramp

Very easy to use, you can select quality, works well. The 'Aux module' is for recording via Line In from an outside source, btw, you don't need that part for conversion.

Windows Media Player 10, is one of the most user friendly I've come accross, and it's even easier with normally being bundled with XP
