What one of the FREE AV products seems to be the best?

Thanks!

AVAST seems to have a lot of satisfied users. I haven't tried the
product in over a year, although I have a recent copy d/loaded and a
registration number.

Try it and let us know your opinion.

Had that question been asked last month, I would have unhesitatingly
recommended f-prot. But it seems that with the latest iteration (3.14e)
their over-ambitious desires to scan within compressed archives has done
them in. If you can obtain a copy of v3.14b, it will accommodate the
latest defs, and perform flawlessly, for the time being. They don't
maintain an archive of previous versions (even the ones that work) on
their site.
Good Luck
