free anti virus

I have been using grisoft anti virus for 5 years but it is soon to be
discontinued can anyone reccomend a similar site i can use for free?

While I am unseure where you are getting your information about the free
version... discontinuing you say?

I can tell you there are other choices out there. Personally - if you like
Grisoft, I would just start using 7.5 as opposed to changing completely just
because they are discontinuing support for 7.1...

You are misinformed !

It is being replaced with a NEW free version, v7.5 !

AVG 7.1 free has been discontinued but has been replaced by AVG Free 7.5. It
is actually a better anti-virus program. It is leaner and does more.

Stay with it Download from Grisoft and install.

The one I would recommend, since there are a few non-free listed is
F-Prot, it is about hundred times lighter than Norton and McAfee, and
does catch similar number of bad things, withour slowing down the
opreating system.
Cost is $30.US for presonal use, and this can be installed and
automatically updated on 5 home computers.
Updates are usually once a week, unless there is a widespread of
mass-virus-trojan-or-whatever. Then updates may come on hourly base.
