I'd like to get a program to keep up with a few different
types of expenses. One that I can enter in an amount
paid for something, and the program will list it and keep
a running total for each list. Are there any free downloadable
programs that would do that? What to search for?

Thanks!
David

Don't know about "free" or "downloadable" programs.
Quicken and Money do such just fine.
I got Quicken "for free" along with my tax software a year ago.

Google offers a limited spreadsheet program.
http://www.google.com/google-d-s/intl/en/tour1.html is a tour.

well, that is an early part of the accounting process, and is easily
done by MS Excel. MS Excel (part of MS Office) is not free. But Open
Office is a free clone of MS Office. You could get that.

Any spreadsheet program.
You could search for freeware spreadsheet.

Most people that have MS Word have MS Excel.

Here's Open Office.

It's available for windows or linux or others.

Hi,

We have a computer with a virus. At first it was just annoying
and slow, but now it (or something) shuts the computer down
as soon as it boots up. It's running Windows 2000, and I tried
starting it in safe mode by tapping F8 during boot-up, but was
never given the option. Is there a different way of getting into
safe mode than by doing that? I'm hoping it can be started in
safe mode and then run a virus scan...

Thanks for any help,
David

Whatever Anti Virus program you have on the Computer you are now using
should have the ability to Create a floppy/CD that will let you scan the
infected system in DOS mode...............what are you using ??

A. Try holding the control-key down while it boots.
B. The F8 key has to be hit at exactly the right time during boot-up.
So, once you see the initial screen, try tapping it a bit faster.

For safe mode running Windows 2000 on your computer - when the Boot menu
appears, press F8. It will not hurt to press F8 several times.
