Fraps videos of FltSimX into Movie Maker

I have successfully used Fraps to video stuff from MS FltSimX. I have XP and
heaps of HDD, plus a 9600 card.
When I try to import the .avi files into MM I get message "could not import,
unspecified error" I know how to use MM no probs....just need to know how to
import from Fraps.
 
What resolution are you using?
Fraps recommend capturing at 800x600, if I remember correctly, and using
that file.
