FRAPS not working right

On my 1900 XT, fraps launches, but has a severe
bug. When a new number is written to the screen, the
old number is not erased. Result is all numbers ever
written are on top of each other. For example, if '47'
is written, then '52', then 39, etc. you would see all numbers overlayed
on each other. Within a second or two, all you see is a
yellow blob, completely unreadable.
Anyone else notice this? Is there a fix?

FRAPS has always worked with my previous Nvidia cards, problem happened
concurrent with installation of my 1900xt.

What version of FRAPS are you using? I'm not see this problem with my
X1900XT (Catalyst v6.5) and FRAPS v1.9D (last free version).

Fiddle with the options in FRAPS like continuous/per-second updates,
transparent/opaque overlay, etc., and try toggling triple-buffering in the
ATi drivers.

Failing all else, ATi Tray Tools has a framerate counter built-in, covering
all the functions of FRAPS and then some.

OK, when I get my 1900xt card back, I'll give it a try.
With Tray Tools, you can see your fps number in real time
while in the game?

Thanks for the great info...

Yes, Tray Tools duplicates all the features of FRAPS 1.9D, including screen
capture and framerate logging.
