Hi, I'm seeing lots of issues like this logged on the Net but a whole lot of
solutions. I have an XP Pro SP 2 machine that I cannot get the .NET 2.0
Framework installed on. I'm using the latest dotnetfx.exe from MSDN.
I can get v1.1 installed no problem. I've tried 2.0 with both the 1.1
installed and uninstalled. I've played with repairing the framework and the
Windows Installer (from MSDN KB article on troubleshooting 1.1
installations). Nothing is working. I've been able to install successfully
on another XP Pro SP 2 machine and a 2000 Server machine. I have an XP Pro
laptop that also won't accept the installation.
It rolls back the install right around the System.Enterprise.dll file just
before it goes into the ASP.NET install. I've also tried uninstalling just
ASP.NET from the 1.1 Framework (using aspnet_regiis.exe) but 2.0 still won't
go on.
What solutions are out there that can get me past this. It's enough trouble
to fix the bugs in my own software - I'm exasperated just trying to install
the basic framework on another workstation!!
Thanks for any thoughts you have.
