Hello does anyone know how I can limit the frame rate of my Nvidia card?
Want to try limiting the frame rate for a game to see if it improves
stuttering. Thanks

If you're getting stuttering, your frame rate is already so low as to
need improvement, not cutting further.

I suggest you turn the game settings way down. If you can't get a
usable frame rate, get a new video card.

You don't mention what it is, or what game you're trying to play.

I'm playing Freelancer and it might just be a problem with the game. The
frame rate is really high when nothing is around and only a little lower
when a lot is going on. The stutters usually happen when something new comes
into range. I'm thinking setting the frame rate lower to around 45 - 50 will
decrease some of the stutters because there won't be a wide fluctuation of
FPS. I was wondering if more ram might help but the game is only using
100mb and there is still like 250mb free, so it might just be a problem
everyone else has as well, not sure.

Anyway does a tool like this exist? I don't see why Nvidia can't put this
option in their software. Thanks

setting the rate lower will merely make it look all the time as it does now
when stuttering - you wont see the change as you do now but - it will just
be bad all the time.

Apparently you don't know of any software to accomplish this...

to improve the abilities of your graphics card.... no
that tends to require an improved graphics card.

Look its very simple. If the game runs at 70 FPS with nothing on the screen,
and it runs at 45 FPS when a lot is going on then I just want to cap the FPS
at 45 - 50 that way the framerate is more CONSISTENT. Don't know what I was
thinking that anyone would understand this.....
