Deleting those important frames. Actually I need to know how I could extract some selective frames, I can make image editing then
how to input back to MM2. What other programs must I need? My Thanks In Advance!

Best Regards,
Rino

What other programs must I need?
...

Here is a step by step procedure:

1. In movie maker start a new project and drag drop the movie whose part
you need to edit externally into the timeline. Use the scissor tool to
cut the part of the clip from the desired start and end points. Save the
project.

2. Now discard first and third clip. Save as movie in DV AVI format
middle.avi

3. You can extract frames using TMPGenc or VirtualDubMod
TMPGenc: File -> Out to file -> Sequence...
VirtualDubMod: File -> Save image sequence...

Edited frames can be merged back in Movie Maker itself.

4. Get and run the scripts from http://www.rehanfx.org/tips.htm which
allow setting exact Picture Duration to 1/30 (for NTSC) or 1/25 (for
PAL).

5. Open the original project as saved in step 1. Discard the middle
clip.

6. Bring all of the edited frames in a new Collection and press Ctrl-A
to select them all. Ctrl-D moves them into the timeline with the default
picture duration.

7. Save as a movie.

Hello,

Your objective is easily achieved with what you see is what you get editing on
a single frame at a time using MovieXone. This is in marked contrast to using
Movie Maker where you can only view each 8th frame when stepping through the
video clip....and a lot can happen in 8 frames...this using PAL by the way...I
do not know if it is different in NTSC

MovieXOne is available on cover disks of magazines like PCC Utilities....you
can do a search for that mag and follow the link to their home website (They
publish a lot of magazines),,,,,,go to the Video section and then go through
the pages to the letter 'M' where you will find the program....there is a small
charge for getting it this way....but there is a bigger charge if you buy the
magazine itself!!!

Hello Rehan,
Thank you for coming up with your procedure. I used TMPGenc for extracting and I'm done editing all my 44 frames. Now, how to
merged back in Movie Maker? I can Import (same with #6 procedure) my Correction folder which contained my 44 frames of edited
images into MM2 BUT the length of imported picture are much longer than my original correction.avi. It look my 44 edited frames
are not compress. If it the same length then I can Drag the still Selected 44 frames into my correction.avi (in Video timeline).

Please tell me one more time how to merged back in Movie Maker 2. All my 44 edited images are in .jpeg and I still want the
original audio.

Best Wishes . . . . Rino

Hello Rehan, Et al,
Here's more observation & clue; TMPGenc is a nice program --- it can output my result for many files extensions. I've found the
extension of .avi is the most effective for MM2 to being imported to the Collection and it play very well in Preview mode my 44
edited frames complete with original sound. One more problem, just after I drag it to the timeline pane, the video & audio
imported well there BUT then impossible to play because of this error message always comes up: "Widows MM has encountered a
problem and needs to close." No way I could play it except to close. Oh boy, I almost did it!

Please tell me how to bring back my edited images (jpeg) to MM2. TIA.

Best Wishes To All ..... Rino

Are you trying to skip the steps I mentioned. Complete the procedure
once ot twice exactly as mentioned. only then try to find shortcuts.

The default duration for a still picture can be specified from Tools->
Options->Advanced. The pictures you add to the timeline will have this
much duration but it applies to the picture that are added to timeline
"after" setting this value.

From this dialog you can set it to a minimum value of 0.125 which means
only 8 pictures per second (8fps). But for NTSC you want 30fps which
requires a picture duration of about 0.033 secs = 33 ms.

As explained on the link mentioned in step 4, I have made some vb
scripts to specify the duration to any value in milli seconds. Using
those scripts you can specify the required 33ms.

Its easier if you try it.

Hello Rehan,
I did tried many times to click & clicks your two vb scripts BUT nothing happen. Is may Browser defective? Is there other way to
set by not using vb scripts?

Another thing: I only took out 44 frames for image editing and I want to keep all of it. You said discard first and third clip and
discard the middle clip. I said there is nothing I can afford to discard. A clip is make up of frames and I've already cut that 44
frames out for trying out and no other clips bothering me. My problem now is I could not return back my 44 well edited frames into
MM2.

Hope my situation is well taken and if I only knew where I'm stepping or understand your procedure. Any simple method is always
better and any help are heartily appreciated.

Best Wishes ..... Rino

Hello Rehan,
At last I got your 2 VBScripts files in .vbs extensions. Tell me what to do next. ---- Rino
