Hello Rehan, Et al,
Here's more observation & clue; TMPGenc is a nice program --- it can output my result for many files extensions. I've found the
extension of .avi is the most effective for MM2 to being imported to the Collection and it play very well in Preview mode my 44
edited frames complete with original sound. One more problem, just after I drag it to the timeline pane, the video & audio
imported well there BUT then impossible to play because of this error message always comes up: "Widows MM has encountered a
problem and needs to close." No way I could play it except to close. Oh boy, I almost did it!
Please tell me how to bring back my edited images (jpeg) to MM2. TIA.
Best Wishes To All ..... Rino
Hello Rehan,
Thank you for coming up with your procedure. I used TMPGenc for extracting and I'm done editing all my 44 frames. Now, how to
merged back in Movie Maker? I can Import (same with #6 procedure) my Correction folder which contained my 44 frames of edited
images into MM2 BUT the length of imported picture are much longer than my original correction.avi. It look my 44 edited frames
are not compress. If it the same length then I can Drag the still Selected 44 frames into my correction.avi (in Video timeline).
Please tell me one more time how to merged back in Movie Maker 2. All my 44 edited images are in .jpeg and I still want the
original audio.
Best Wishes . . . . Rino
What other programs must I need?

Here is a step by step procedure:
1. In movie maker start a new project and drag drop the movie whose part
you need to edit externally into the timeline. Use the scissor tool to
cut the part of the clip from the desired start and end points. Save the
project.
2. Now discard first and third clip. Save as movie in DV AVI format
middle.avi
3. You can extract frames using TMPGenc or VirtualDubMod
TMPGenc: File -> Out to file -> Sequence...
VirtualDubMod: File -> Save image sequence...
Edited frames can be merged back in Movie Maker itself.
4. Get and run the scripts from
http://www.rehanfx.org/tips.htm which
allow setting exact Picture Duration to 1/30 (for NTSC) or 1/25 (for
PAL).
5. Open the original project as saved in step 1. Discard the middle
clip.
6. Bring all of the edited frames in a new Collection and press Ctrl-A
to select them all. Ctrl-D moves them into the timeline with the default
picture duration.
7. Save as a movie.
