I have been using this program with this server for many years - Sometimes
not always I will receive an error message saying to connect to the
internet(which I am) or tocheck with my server which I have and they suggest
to use anothe upload program. I have Winxp. This is not constant but is
getting really irretating. Suggestions?

What version of the FP server extensions are installed on your host/remote
server? What is the O/S of your host/remote server?

I have found that the severs that support fp2000 and up don't support fp98

That is not entirely correct.

Unix servers with FP2002 extensions do not support FrontPage98
Unix servers with FP2000 extensions will support any version of
FrontPage up to FP2000, with partial support for later versions.
Windows servers with any version of extensions (FP2000 or later) will
support any version of FrontPage - with only partial support if the
FrontPage version is later than the extensions version.

Ok this is all greek to me - I click on publish and most of the time it
publishes but lately sometimes it does not - right now it says unable to
connect ot upload host - I am a newbie and anything that does not work I have
a hard time figuring out what is the problem. My server is att. I did not
think I had any extensions

The FTP in FP98 and FP2000 was always flaky for me - it worked most of
the time, but often failed.
Try using an FTP client, such as CuteFTP, to upload your site, though
this will not differentiate between
changed pages and other pages.

I am not that good at all this to be fussing around with an externat program
- also I have over 250files and can not upload all of them to change just one
file.
