Hello All:

Encounter a small issue, still trying to get my arms around this whole
subdomain vs. subweb. But here's my scenario, I have a site hosted on an MS
Hosting site with FP extensions the whole nine yards. I am using a Guestbook
feature in FP. I am using Guestbook because while my host service has Active
Server Pages, FrontPage Extensions, and is Access database supported I am
under the impression that a phpBB won't work optimally in this environment
(am I wrong to assume this is true?)

Anyway... here's what I have:

domain is:
http://www.mydomain.com
subweb is:
http://www.mydomain.com/motorcycles motorcycles being a folder containing
the subweb

subdomain is:
http://motorcycles.mydomain.com

All of the above work as far as opening the website, however... I can only
add to the guestbook via the http://www.mydomain.com/motorcycles path. If I
try to enter a comment in the guestbook while viewing the website via the
subdomain link http://motorcycles.mydomain.com I get this error message:

Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page:
http://motorcycle.mydomain.com/riders_digest.htm

Can I correct this? Any help appreciated.
Steve

You can find ASP based Guestbooks and Forum applications. You can only run PHP, if your host has it
installed.
Anyway... here's what I have:

This is a host FP Extensions configuration issue dealing with use of subdomains and the DNS
settings.

Thank you Thomas... it happens that I did a Google search last night for
"phpBB" like applications and yes I did find a lot that are ASP based. I
ended up going with Snitz. Even have it up and running, just at the tweaking
stage know.

Thanks for the help,
Steve Banks
