FP2003 - Problems Left Shared Border

I don't understand the question.

The left shared border is *always* _borders/left.htm
What you place in this file is up to you, but a .pdf file can only be
linked to - it can't be embedded in the borders.

As far as borders displaying twice is concerned - look for extra <body>
and/or </body> tags.

Sorry for misunderstanding.

I want to CHANGE the current LEFT shared border to the following links:
- http://www.quagtum.com/index_Navigational_Menus_2009a.htm

But when publishing, page content displays TWICE... side by side!! Here is
an example showing what happens with the home page (saved as a pdf):
- http://www.quagtum.com/images/_FrontPage_Shared_Border_Error.pdf

LEFT border seems to be "replaced" with the web page content??

Let me know if you are online.... I will republish with the changes so you
can SEE what's happening.

Open index_Navigational_Menus_2009a.htm

Change
<meta name="Microsoft Border" content="tlb, default">
To
<meta name="Microsoft Border" content="none">

Save the page as left.htm. Close the page.

If you don't see the _borders folder in the files/folder list then
Tools->Site Settings - Advanced tag
Tick the box labelled "Show hidden files and folders"
Click OK and allow the web site to refresh

Drag left.htm into the _borders folder, replacing the file already there
- you may want to back this up first?

Test the pages.

Additionally, you should also remove all the Office bloat from the
pages, such as:

Before anyone can diagnose what (if anything) in the page markup is
causing the problem you will have to clean up the code.

Things like:
<tr>
<span class="MsoBodyTextIndent"><span style="font-weight: 700;
letter-spacing: 2px"></span>
<td
is illegal HTML.

Before finding this I deleted over 2000 occurrences of <O:P>, and a
similar, though greater, number of </O:P>. These tags have nothing to
do with web pages, but are part of round trip code for Word or
Publisher.

There are bugs in the FrontPage extensions that can cause the problem
which require the latest patches to be applied to the server - though
since these patches were released several years ago I wonder if the host
is worth staying with.

OK. Are you saying the problem code is tranfered back from the Bell Canada
server??

What do you recommend?? Can apply XML formatting, Reformat XMML or Optimize
HTML to code page resolve problem???
