FP2003 Closes Immediately / Won't Open Files

I have a fresh XP install on my laptop and everything ran fine for a
week. Now (suddenly overnight) when I open FrontPage 2003 it closes
immediately. I can see it create a new_page.htm file (by default) and
then it just closes. No log entry in Event Viewer either. If I
right-click and open an .html file with FP, it says "Windows cannot
find the file, make sure you typed it correctly".

I've tried repairing and completely reinstalling FP, including deleting
all FP-related registry keys, deleting all *.web files, with no luck.

Copy and paste the following into the Start > Run box and click OK:

%UserProfile%\Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\State

In the folder that opens, check for a file named CmdUI.PRF and delete it if exists.

Then open FrontPage and see what happens.

Find and delete the cmdui.prf file for FrontPage - this is the file that
stores your customizations and preferences for the FrontPage Menu and it
will get rebuilt, using the defaults, the next time you start FrontPage.

Steve/Kathleen,

Thank you, that did the trick. I previously searched for CmdUI.prf with
the intentions of deleting it after I stumbled onto a thread that
suggested to do so. But I was unable to locate it for some weird
reason. However, going directly to '%UserProfile%\Application
Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\State' was the answer.

Thanks again!
