I'm a complete newbie to Frontpage 2003, from what I understand from
walk-throughs I can create a basic page ie using basic wysiwyg on a blank
page, then select Format \ Theme and select a theme which should look quite
jazzy.

However, when I select, say 'Autumn' all that happens is the background
colour changes, the text remains and the header does not have the fancy
leafy surround to it.

Am I missing something here?

Did you apply the theme as a Active Theme and have you built a navigation structure (View) for your
site?

I started with a blank page, the clicked on the navigation tab and added 6
new pages, named them and then right clicked on a blank area and clicked on
apply.

I then went into design view and opened index.htm and entered plain text,
which I then formatted by selecting the page title and enlarging the font
size and I created a bulletted list from 6 lines. I clicked save then went
to format selected themes and clicked on the autum style drop-down menu and
I forget the exact option, but it was to apply to all pages.

I'm not sure if that constitutes an 'active theme'.

Have you added a navigation bar or banner? These are the only other
components that a FrontPage theme will show in a page.

Hi

I discovered my problem. It would seem I have to incorporate shared borders
for the banner and nav bars to show hin the way they do in the Theme's
thumbnail
