Windows 2003 Server is running IIS 6.0.
Configured as an application server with only the
FrontPage server extensions option selected (no .net)

The dreaded [FrontPage Search Component] appears in the
form.

Any ideas what may be going on?

Do you have Index Server Installed and running and a index catalog built?

I probably should have replied like this:
Yes, indexing is functioning on the server.
We can query the catalog and receive results back

Thanks

Are you creating the form directly on the server in FP or locally and then
publishing to the server? If locally try create a simple form directly on
the server to see if you get the same problem.

The form was created directly on the live site - no
publishing involved...

Is 2003 Server fully compatible with the FP Search
mechanism - we've tried everything I can think of...

As far as I know, yes, but you might want to post for help in the Windows
Server newsgroup.

Don't seem to be getting anywhere with the 2003
Newsgroups. Do you have any ideas on why the search
component would/could fail on Win2003?

Sean,

Sorry, I don't have any additional ideas on this, other than it has to be a
configuration issue on the server.
