Don't copy - that's causing your corruption
- suspect the server (FP SE) is set to run a health check periodically, and when it does your DW corruption (caused by your copying)
is "exposed"
Each web/subweb (especially DW) contains FP Meta data on the server that is not copied
- it is generated by the FP SE and therefore your copying is corrupting the new DW because the required Meta data and indexes are
missing or not in sync w/ the content
Publishing allows the FP SE to generate the correct meta data
To create a new series or DWs
1st create an Empty new DW (no copying) as a Template (don't post to it)
File Import any images or common content for layout and apply your theme, etc.
The open the empty DW template subweb and Publish it to the new DW subweb when you need one
- if your host does not allow creation of subwebs thru publishing you might get an error, so just create an Empty subweb for the new
DW before you publish to it

| Thanks for helping...
|
| Each time I run into the Discussion9 problem, which is every 30 days or so,
| I create a new subweb (currently Discussion10) and copy all files into it
| less the folder discab (tocproto.htm and posts). I do this to keep the same
| "look"... fonts, backgrounds...etc).
|
| This is what I'm copying over to the new DW: folder (_borders), and all the
| files on the root directory (cfrm, frm, post, srch, tocf, welc, and my index
| version - Salem03.htm.).
|
| Yes, there is a directory named _discX with each new DW, but I delete this
| and other unused folders (like: themes, images... etc) and the files in the
| root (discX_cfrm, discX_frm, etc...) before I move over the copied files.
|
| The bottom line is everything works fine (like Discussion10) for a month...
| then, BANG! I get the error message in Discussion9. For some reason it's
| adding another disab (or _discX if I kept with the naming convention) onto
| the path.
|
| Not sure if helps my cause, but I do appreciate your help.
