I can't get my front page extensions reinstalled. What should I do? Do I
need to delete the whole site and start over again? I have tons of files
and php scripts installed.
thanks,
Lisa

Reinstalled where?
On your host server - contact them
On your PC under IIS see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnservext02/fpse2002win.asp

No....if you have a control panel, you should be able to install the
extensions from there.

When I say "control panel" I mean the web-based thing connected with your
hosting account (not Windows Control Panel).

Otherwise ask your host.

I have tried to reinstall the fp extensions from my hosting control panel,
but still getting an error or problem: ( I think I need the private folder
so my forms page will work properly.)
Here is the message I get below.

Starting install, port: 80.

Creating web http://www.americanranchhorse.net.
Error #20006 Message: Cannot close file "service.cnf".
Chowning Content in service /.
Error: Cannot create folder "_private".
Setting Password
Frontpage passthough auth enabled!

You need to contact your web host and have remove and then re-install the extensions and also check
the permissions on your account. Then you need to do a complete publish from within FP using File
Menu | Publish Site and enter the destination as http://www.yourdomainname.com

I have changed some of the permissions so the client can use the php script
I installed.
the html folder is is set at 770 and the images and the admin folder at
777.
Is there a way to publish the site from FP without using ftp without
overwriting anything the client has done?
Here is one of my sites that has a coupld of php scripts that the client
takes care of and I started ftping it, but hopefully I can go back to just
publish which I'd love to do:
http://www.barrelhorsetraining.com/
http://www.barrelhorsetraining.com/horsesforsale.htm (this is one they do
themselves and each horse comes up with their own page, that only generates
to the live site and not to my computer where is where I update the site)
http://www.barrelhorsetraining.com/events.php calendar script they work on
as well.

Do you need user and pw to take a look?
thanks,
Lisa A

Make the folder for the PHP script, FP subwebs / sites and then use your FTP application to upload
your PHP files and never open these folder via FP.
