Hello,

I'm using FP 2003 SP1 on a Windows XP SP2 PC.

My FP Publish Log has an entry, in red, that says:

Failed to delete folder "fm/users"

The fm/users folder is empty.

What does this error mean, and why am I getting the error? What should I do
so that I no longer receive this error?

Other than this error, FP is working without problems.

Thank you.

John

Do you see this in a popup, or did you dig into the publish log to find it??

At any rate, delete the folder.

Steve,

Thanks for the quick reply.

When FP finishes publishing, there are links at the bottom of the FP window,
one of which is a link to the Publishing Log. When I click that link, a
browser window opens showing the log. That's where I see the message. No
popup.

OK, I'll delete the folder.

John

After you delete the folder, go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and
download FP Cleaner.

Run the functions that clear the FrontPage Temporary files, and the Cache(.web) files.

If you did not create the folders (fm/users) on your remote online site your host may have created it and you may not have
permissions to delete it
(but FP is trying to delete it during publishing because it is unmatched in your local site)

Try opening your online site in FP and trying to delete it
If you can't delete it try converting it to a subweb
- both in FP (right click in folder list - Convert to web), or Tools Server Admin
- or contact your host to convert it

Otherwise create a corresponding folder (fm) in your root web and convert it to a subweb and when you publish do not include subwebs

Stefan,

I'll try that.

QUESTION: Is there any harm done if I just leave the fm/users folder alone?
Other than showing up as an error in my Publish Log, I can't see that it's
doing anything problematic.

John

Probably not
