FP 2003 "ownership"

D

Doug Mlodzinski

I'm currently using FP2002 to run a web site for my alumni association. I'd
like the association to purchase/own the full 2003 version and register it in
their name. Should someone else take over the site in the future, could the
software be passed on to the next webmaster? Would I need some sort od multi-PC
license?

TIA

The issue is not so much the license by the activation of the application which is tied to the
machine it is installed on. In general Office application can be installed on one desktop and one
laptop as long as there is no possibility that both can be used at the same time by different
people.

Hi Doug,

The ownership is tied to the machine that it is installed on so as long as you're using the associations hardware you should not
have a problem.

Yeah.. therein lies the problem. Every person who has volunteered their time to
watch over the alumni web site has done so from their home machines. I just
thought it would be nice for the alumni association to actually own the
software.

Looks like what I was hoping for is not possible.

Thanx!

One solution is for the organization to by a PC, which is then transferred to each person.
