FP 2002 wont let me access my Web on drive G:/

I have a web and lots of subwebs on my local PC on drive G:.

This arrangement has worked well for around a year or so.

Just late this afternoon I am now locked OUT of opening the drive G:/ root
web. I can open and work with the subwebs, but not the web at the root of
drive G:.

I have tried rebooting. Doesn't solve the dilema.

The only change today was that I followed adivce I got earlier and applied
several Office Xp Service packs which wonderfully solved a problem I had
been having with web component Insert page.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to open my root web on drive G: ?
 
I can access it with file explorer. Why am I not longer able to open it with
FP 2002?

This makes no sense.

I need to be able to make changes to my home page in the root web and
publish it ASAP. But, since I have not been able t o open the root web on
device G: since about the time I applied the service packs this afternoon.
I have no idea if that could be the problem.

Does anyone have any clues of where I might look for an answer?
