With no changes to either the Server or my publishing machine, I am now
unable to publish changes to my web. I am getting the following error:

"An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web files. Authors - if
authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this
server's site. WebMasters - please see the server's system log for more
details"

The guy in charge of the server tells me that no errors are being reported
on the server. I have tried the Registry edit to increase the Maximum
upload value suggested in the Spider Woman Web Designs troubleshooting
pages, with no changes in the error reported.

I am using FP 2002 and Windows XP so don't think that her other suggestions
about the hotfix applies since it is talking about Windows 2000. I do not
have any MDB files being uploaded unless the one embedded in a zip file is
causing the problem??

Hi Dawn,

The folks running the server should be able to see the event logs to find
out what the problems are.

If I was a betting man though I would say that there is either a problem
with the FrontPage extensions on the server, or permissions, or possibly
both.

Even the error message itself is saying that it is server side.

Wish it was so, John. They keep telling me that the event logs are empty.
I've tried a Detect and Repair with no Joy. Guess I could install on a
different computer and see if I can get it to go then.

If I can get the web to limp along until I can re-create the entire web in
EW, that would make me happiest. It's a training web and frankly with all
the training material that I need to create for the rest of O07, I'm hitting
brain overload with the thought of learning something else new at the same
time! LOL

Hi Dawn:
Do you also get this error when you open your local web site? What Antivirus
are you running?

Haven't had any problems with opening and designing in my local website.
Only when I want to publish to the Remote Website. We've been running
McAfee 8.0 for ages. So, if it is a AntiVirus problem it will have to be
with an update that they recently published.

I was able to publish via Web Expressions Beta - but had to use Synchronize
because I got the error when I just said to "Publish" ???
