FP 03. When linking I get the drive W:\Agendas_2007\May_07\0502_07_CJ and
not the usual ../../Agendas_2007/May_07/0503_07_AG.pdf

How can I fix this?

Thanks

Do you have a FP web actually created and opened before you open the page to
work on it?
Have you done a File | Import of the pdf document to bring it into your open
web before inserting the link on the page?

Thank Tom:

Yes to your first question. Actually I get the same problem when linking to
any file, htm, or pdf, etc.

What about the answer to my second question.

The pdf files are created on the network and then stored in a specified
folder for that year/month. I then open the page where I want the link to
the pdf to be. Then, I click the hyperlink icon and when I select the folder
where the PDF files are it gets stuck and no files or folders are shown. So,
I go up one folder, find the root dir and get to the folder where the pdfs
are. The moment I select the folder to link to a PDF file is when the path
shows W:\folder\file.pdf and as we have done before that path was like this
/../../folder/file.pdf

Thank you for your help.

Import the file into your web first, before inserting the link on the page.

This is what we always do:

The pdf files are created on the network and then stored in a specified
folder for that year/month. I then open the page where I want the link to
the pdf to be. Then, I click the hyperlink icon and when I select the
folder where the PDF files are it gets stuck and no files or folders are

this /../../folder/file.pdf

Thank you for your help.

The link is being written correct based on how you are adding the link. You need to import the PDFs
into the current open FP web prior to linking to them or you need to make the folder a virtual
folder under IIS, however FP will not see the folder but you will be able to manually create links
to the document located in the folder.
