I found this great shortcut that allows you to access Windows Explorer
from a desktop shortcut - C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /n,/e,C:\ - but I
don't know where to run this command line from to create the shortcut?

Anyone?

???

How about right-click desktop, new shortcut (second option from the top),
fill in the command line as you have it in the first dialog box, fill in a
nice name for the shortcut in the second dialog box and hitting finish?
Then double-click the icon on the desktop??

Why don't you just right click on the Windows Explorer icon under All
Programs/Accessories and Send to... Desktop as Shortcut?

Starrt | Run |Type or paste this in the box:

C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /n,/e,C:\
| Click OK

This will also create a shortcut to C:
Right click the Desktop | New | Shortcut |
Type or copy and paste this in the box:

%windir%\EXPLORER.EXE /e,c:

Next | Finish
