Norton anti-virus, and Symantec products in general, IMHO, are notorious for
failing to uninstall themselves properly. Until Symantec took over Norton
it was a good product. IMHO, they are now bloated with cutesy features that
no one needs and conflicts with too many other things. Now I recommend
everyone get rid of it as soon as possible.

I recommend instead Grisoft's AVG Anti-Virus. It's free, it's updated more
than frequently and the updates are free, and it works properly.
www.grisoft.com, AVG free edition.

After installing progs one by one I have found that once my AV is installed
that is when I have the trouble removing my Flash Drive. I am using
Computer Associates EZ anti virus. I have this AV installed on Desktop where
it gives no problems with the Flash Drive but that machine is running W98SE
not XP.

Any help appreciated

Should have mentioned that my machine original came with Norton AV installed
and it was removed with a removal tool (with help from tech support) but I
have noticed that there are still a couple of folders on system belonging to
Symantec, one being the update folder. Don't suppose this could have
anything to do with it.

Delete everything referring to Norton or Symantec. Go into run/regedit and
edit/find. Type in Symantec first and delete every entry referring to it.
Then do the same with Norton. I also agree that Grisoft's AVG is a great
anti-virus program and doesn't take over everything.
