i recently tried installing a network adapter, but xp
didn't recognize the plug and play so after many attempts
to install it, i decided to take a break. after that, i
started getting "new hardware found Net," but if i tried
to install it using the driver disk, it couldn't find
anything. then i took the network card out thinking the
error would go away. no luck. i tried to uninstall that
unknown hardware, but it said the computer needs it to
boot up so it couldn't be uninstalled.
i put the network card back in and was able to install it
how i intended, but i'm still getting that new hardware
message even though there are no more open PCI slots. any
suggestions on what to do? i'm going to reinstall winxp
to see if it fixes anything. i tried restoring back to an
earlier date, but for some reason, my computer doesn't
save more than a month ago...something's wrong with that
feature as well.
