I found a bug in internet explorer 7. When I take my computer out of
hibernation and try to load my favorites it won't load. I have to reboot the
computer then it will load. I thought it was a problem with my internet
provider DSL Extreme but they told me it was a bug in internet explorer 7 and
to download Firefox web browser. Now I have 2 web browsers but I prefer IE 7.
I am not computer literate so don't get technical and ask too many questions.
Would you try to hibernate your machines and mimic my situation. Web browser
IE 7 works great for the most part and I want you guys to know what's
happening. DSL extreme told me to use Firefox in the meantime. When it gets
buggy I will switch to Firefox for a few sessions then switch to IE 7. That's
my 2 cents worth--

What else do you do via the Internet connection, besides web browsing?

Do you use pop3/smtp email?

Does that email work when you come out of hibernation?

One possibility is that this is a power management issue with your network
card drivers, and nothing to do with IE at all.

Your ISP is not giving you helpful advice.

Hi cyrus,

You found just ONE bug? Go over to
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general. There you can read about LOTS of
IE7 bugs. :>

No,I hardly use hibernation. I mostly shut it down when I leave. E mail works
alright I just used hibernation a few days to see how it works. We just use
e mail and web browsing. DSL extreme are not helpful. They always give the
wrong advice.

I think that it is more likely that this is a power management bug with the
network driver (i.e. outside of Microsoft's control) than an IE problem--but
I can't tell for sure from your evidence. Problems with network drivers and
coming out of either sleep or hibernation are not uncommon--updating the
driver can help.

I don't hibernate anymore. Everything is working fine. I just shut it off
when I leave it for a few hours. Are you talking about the nvidia video card?
I think it is called the 64mb geforced 4 mx graphics card with tv out. I
update the driver every December. I also have an Intel Pro 100m Integrated
PCI NIC card--
