My computer is running Windows XP Pro SP3.
I had a power failure while I was out, and it exceeded the time my UPS
was able to keep the computer running. When I started it up again, it
ran CHKDSK on the C: drive and "recovered" a 32KB recovered file
fragment named FILE0000.CHK which it placed in a directory C:\FOUND.000
The computer seems to be running OK. Is there anyway to determine what
file this fragment came from and repair the file? If CHKDSK couldn't do
this, I'm guessing the answer probably is no. In that case, what is the
point of the file having been saved? Is there any reason why I shouldn't
delete it? Thanks!
