Forwarding Mail to Gmail

I have my Window's mail set to forward all my messages to my Gmail account,
which I check more frequently. Unfortunately, I receive about 3 messages each
day that do not get forwarded to Gmail and only show in Window's Mail. They
have been forwards as well as original messages sent directly and only to me.

Any ideas why all my mail is not being sent, and how to fix it?

Windows Mail probably won't do anything, such as forwarding email, if it
isn't running.
 
Just how did you set Windows Mail to forward messages?

The normal procedure would be to configure Gmail to fetch
mail directly from the other mail servers. This does not require
any Windows Mail involvement.
