Forwarded Email - Embedded Pictures Flicker

I am running Outlook 2003 on Windows 7. I am using WORD as the default
editor. When I forward an email with embedded pictures, the pictures flicker
(very annoying), and it seems to take a long time to send the email. Has
anyone else run into this problem, and if so, is there a resolution?

The pictures flicker for whom, you or the recipient? Naturally, it's going to
take a while to send messages containing images, especially those that are
high density.
