Can I set up my preferences to allow for the attachment to stay connected
to my forwarded messages?
Configure Outlook to forward as attachment. Then the *original* e-mail is
included in your new e-mail rather than a chopped out piece from its body.
If you don't forward the original as an attachment, you are NOT giving the
next recipient an actual copy of the original e-mail. Forwarding inline
means you are giving them a *modified* copy of the original e-mail (so the
recipient won't know if what you say is the original was really the original
e-mail).
Why would you send the attachment back to the person that gave it to you?
They already have the file. Proof is that THEY attached it to their e-mail
that you received and to which you want to reply. They don't need another
copy of the SAME file.
How about when dragging the message into a Task for my assistant?
Someone else will have to answer that since I never bother to do link my
e-mails and tasks together.
