OL 2000 w/SP 3. The original email has started to disappear after the
Send key is hit on a "Forward". It's not in the Deleted folder.
Anyone know how I can correct this so the original email remains in the
Inbox?
Thanks

Click View | Current View and make sure it's set to "Messages" and not
"Unread Messages". Also make sure you're not sorting on the Icon column.

Jocelyn,
Your reply confuses me. Of course the view is set to
"Messages" instead of "Unread Messages". How else would I expect to be
able to find old messages? What confuses me however, is {sorting on
icons}. I don't even know how to do that or why, and I believe the
sorting is just by date/time received when "Messages" is selected. I
often resort on "Sender" to find an email and then always resort on
"Messages" where it stays. Something really weird has happened to my
OL 2000 SP3 recently and I don't like the workaround of including
myself as a :CC everytime I Forward a message just so I can retain it
in my Inbox. Thank you for your reply. If there is anything else you
can think of I'd really appreciate it. Someone else suggested a new
Profile but I have no idea how to do that either. Mostly, I'm
wondering how an email completely disappears from an Inbox without
stopping at Deleted like everything else I delete.

Jocelyn,

Problem is fixed thanks to your post. I didn't understand why
someone would sort on Icons but something like that must have happened
(and probably has happened before judging by your advice). Spent some
time thinking about it and realized that a message couldn't just
disappear into thin air. So went searching and found some of the
recently missing messages way out of place at the end near my oldest
messages. So I went to the date column and clicked and presto,
everything was back to normal. Thank you again for your help.

Glad you got it worked out.
