Hi yall not sure if this is the right board but here gose

i just started to make a Forum this being my frist time doing so i messed it up kinda can anyone give me any ideals on how to fix it the way i want it i know a little java and html but i have no ideal what a css sheet is i changed some colors on the board there but not what i wanted too here is the link to the forum take a look http://s13.invisionfree.com/Elite_Force_Scripts/index.php?act=idx/ i wanted a black background and the txt all to be purple thanks any help would be wonderful ..

They will be able to help you much quicker, easier and more thoroughly than we can here.

However, in order to get your black background (I presume you mean in place of the purple). You need to find this piece of code in the above CSS

BODY { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #ffffff; margin:0px 10px 0px 10px;background-color:#800080 }

It's about 4 lines from the top.

And replace it with this:

BODY { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #ffffff; margin:0px 10px 0px 10px;background-color:#000000 }

Learning CSS is best done just playing with it, using trial-and-error. It's surprising how easy it is when you get into it.
I use a little program called TopStyle to edit my CSS. You can get it from http://www.bradsoft.com/download/dloadhandler.asp?file=ts3lite.exe
I highly recommend its use.

Howdy do. DragonMaster.. I see you are using the invisoin free boards too, just out of curiosity I have started playing with them myself too here Just had a quick look and the first thing I would do is get rid of that java trail that follows the mouse! its an immediate put off, ide let guest enter the site to look around too but change the settings so only reg users can post... go here --> Webstation to my forum, then right click --> view sorce.. this will bring up the HTML wicih incorporates the css sheeting too, you wil be able to see roughly what the effect of certain settings are

To check what fields you need to edit look here... This will give you a rundown on what fields are what for
