I found no forum on the F-Prot website.

I just subscribed to alt.comp.anti-virus, and there is just 1 post on
F-Prot, a newbie answered.

Where is a useful forum for F-Prot questions?

Actually, comp.virus is a very good group, and the author of F-Prot
often pops in there.

Try this:
<http://google.com/groups?as_q=F-prot&as_ugroup=alt.comp.anti-virus&as_scoring=d&lr=&num=100>
or: <http://makeashorterlink.com/?F266523C6>

and:
<http://google.com/groups?num=100&scoring=d&q=F-prot&btnG=Google+Search>

else: Check out the forums (not Usenet, but newsgroup/server
interface) at grc.com, see <http://grc.com/discussions.htm>

All the best,

alt.comp.virus, I guess you mean. comp.virus is dormant.

Yep, I believe you're right. It's been awhile since I peeked into
either of them, so I confused the two.

Actually, I
may pop in just about anywhere that F-PROT is mentioned ;-)

Thanks, Bjorn. That and the above post from the author, show that there
is some activity over time for F-Prot on alt.comp.anti-virus.

I was just told on alt.comp.virus that my error message is actually part
of F-Prot, and I should contact the company.

This is the problem:
About 4 months ago, I ran F prot and it ran fine.

I ran F-Prot a few days ago.

I clicked Scan, and left the screen while it was running. It
started scannning my C root, so everything looked OK.

When I got back later, it had stopped with this screen:

I have a C partition and a D partition.
It seems F-Prot terminated inprocess and never completed the scan.

If OE means Outlook Express, I uninstalled the W98 default last
week. Winkill is a program for process view, not destructive.

What is the meaning of this screen?

How to fix it so F-Prot scans normally?

Since this is part of F-Prot, can you answer here directly?

Actually, I

When I downloaded fprot for dos I downloaded the program archives
which contained old virus definitions, so I had to download the latest
virus definitions too.

I am on a dial-up modem so I did not like that I had to download big
definition files which were not uptodate and then download the newest
virus definitions too.

Couldn't you update the program archives every day so people would
automatically get the latest virus definitions when they download the
program?

If updating the program archives every day (or every time the a new
version of the definition files are released) is impossible you could
at least remove the old definition files from the program archive and
make clear on the web site that people need to download both the
program and the latest definition files.

(It was months since I downloaded the program so you may have changed
this already.)

Thanks for a good and free program anyway.
