Fortissimo or SB Live sound card

I have a couple of spare cards one of which I would like to put into a
friend's computer. The cards are a Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 and a Sound
Blaster Live 5.1. Which is the better card?

Well, immediately the 7.1 suggests the Fortissimo allows for 7.1 speaker
connections as opposed to the 5.1 of the Sound Blaster. In other words
you can plug more speakers into the outputs of the Fortissimo (up to 7
satellites). Also, I used to own a Sound Blaster 5.1 and wasn't that
impressed with it, to be honest. There are plenty of reviews of both if
you do a bit of googling.
