formula question

I REALLY need an answer to my question!! My fiance and I have started a
new business and we use excel to keep track of our mark-ups and
profits. What I really need to know is how we get it so we don't have
to add the formulas to each and every cell. Is there some way to get it
to formulate the whole column at once??? PLEASE HELP US!!
 
If you select your range first (say E12:e999), then write the formula (with E12
as the activecell), then hit ctrl-enter instead of just enter, then the whole
range will be filled with the adjusted formula.

Just like typing in the formula in one cell and then using the little square
autofill button on the bottom right of the activecell indicator to drag down
through the range.
