Formula Question

I have specific status codes in Text Format in Column B of my workbook. I'm
wanting to setup a formula that will calculate the average of one status
marked complete to be divided by the total number of status that I have to
return a percentage of the total complete for the entire task. Is this
possible?

=COUNTIF(A:A,"complete")/COUNTA(A:A)%
