Formula problem

I have updated data and the formula result changes to 0. The table is set to
automatic calculation, I have tried F9 and changing the format to general.
Nothing is working. Please help!
 
Say we have the formula:
=SUM(A1:A10)
and we paste new values in A1 thru A10. If the pasted values were text,
then the formula would show 0. Just changed A1 thru A10 to General is not
sufficient fo fix the problem.

Clear the cells and re-type the values.
